Artistic Director

Jolene Wong

Jolene Wong, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, holds a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Education, and a Master in Education with a focus in Secondary Music from the University of Alberta. She also holds a Post Master Artist Certificate in Wind Band Conducting from Georgia State University under the direction of Dr. Robert J. Ambrose. 

 

Jolene enjoys a very successful teaching career with Edmonton Catholic Schools, having taught middle and high school, where programs under her direction have seen substantial growth and won numerous awards. She was also appointed Curriculum Consultant in the area of secondary music, a role in which she served for three years. She was also selected to be the conductor of the Southern Alberta Junior Honour Band in 2026.

 

Jolene is currently the director of the Edmonton Catholic Schools Junior All City Band and is proud to be the founder and artistic director of the Wild Rose Wind Ensemble, a group dedicated to serve the young musicians of Edmonton. She has been fortunate to be involved in many workshops, clinics, masterclasses, and professional development activities all over the world under notable teachers including Jerry Junkin, Mallory Thompson, Eugene Corporon, H. Robert Reynolds, Gary Hill and Dale Lonis.

She continues to be an in demand guest conductor, conducting teacher, guest speaker, and clinician. She is proud to be a member of the Alberta Band Association, Women Band Directors International - AB Chapter, and the International Bandmasters Fraternity Phi Beta Mu.

Executive Director

Amanda Dang

Amanda Dang is an Edmonton-based musician and educator, teaching with Elk Island Catholic Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, under the mentorship of Dr. Allison Balcetis and Dr. William Street. Amanda is enthusiastic and passionate about working with and serving musicians in the community. She has worked with many organizations, including the Edmonton Jazz Society, the Edmonton Chamber Music Society, and the North American Saxophone Alliance. Amanda continues to share her passion for music through her role as the Executive Director and as a teacher.

Design & Social Media Lead

Kaitlyn Tupper

Kaitlyn is an Edmonton-based designer and visual artist. She has been playing flute since 2015, and recently graduated from MacEwan University with a Bachelor of Design.
In 2022, Kaitlyn worked as a design intern at MacEwan’s label, Bent River Records, creating branding for label events and managing Bent River’s social media. She is so happy to once again be joining her love of music with her passion for design!
